Starting off with a gentle breathing practice to help you relax and connect with baby.
HEART WOMB RIVER BREATH
- Sit in any comfortable position
- Close your eyes or soften your gaze
- Relax your shoulders, soften your face
- Allow yourself to slow down and settle…
- Become aware of your breathing, no need to change your breathing, simply notice where your body moves as you inhale and where your body moves as you exhale
- Bring your left hand to your heart and right hand to baby
- Welcome the weight and warmth of your hands
- Take your awareness down to baby resting in the wombspace
- And then back up to the hand resting on your heart
- Looping your awareness with your breath along this heart womb river channel
- Exhale awareness down to baby in the wombspace
- Inhale awareness back up to your heartspace
- Sending love down to baby
- Receiving love from baby
- Exchanging love between the 2 hearts that reside in your body
- Settle into this practice, every time you become distracted, come back to your breath and to the exchange of love between you and baby
HEART WOMB RIVER BREATH WITH MOVEMENT
- Inhale – Place both hands, palms together in front of your chest (prayer/namaste position)
- Exhale – point fingers down keeping the thumb tips and index finger tips touching, so there is a triangle between your fingers, slide your hands in this position to baby in the wombspace
- Inhale – reach the arms forwards and up as far as the shoulders allow, looking through the triangle window between your hands
- Exhale – palms together bring them back down in front of your chest into prayer position
- Repeat several times, flowing at a comfortable and relaxed pace of breath
HEART WOMB RIVER BREATH STANDING
- Stand with feet a comfortable distance apart, with toes slightly turned out, so when you gently bend your knees your knees follow the direction of your feet, avoid bottom sticking out or tucking tail under
- Inhale – Place both hands, palms together in front of your chest (prayer/namaste position)
- Exhale – point fingers down keeping the thumb tips and index finger tips touching, so there is a triangle between your fingers, slide your hands in this position to baby in the wombspace, gently bending knees into a plie
- Inhale – reach the arms forwards and up as far as the shoulders allow, looking through the triangle window between your hands, slowly straightening your legs
- Exhale – palms together bring them back down in front of your chest into prayer position
- Repeat several times, flowing at a comfortable and relaxed pace of breath
