1) Stand with your feet a comfortable distance apart so that you feel stable.
Interlace your fingers
Inhale – draw up through your legs and arms until your hands are level with your heart
Exhale – turns palms down, press down through feet and hands as you lower arms
Inhale – keeping your fingers interlaced, sweep your arms forwards and up, lifting your gaze if that feels comfortable
Exhale – separate hands, sweep arms down by your side, interlacing fingers back to starting position
Repeat several times
2) Turn toes out slightly, bend your legs into a gentle plié, toes following the direction of the knees, widen stance if that helps you to feel balanced, once your happy with you’re stance, straighten legs and begin sequence
Interlace your fingers
Inhale – draw up through your legs and arms until your hands are level with your heart
Exhale – turns palms down, bend knees into plié and press down through hands as you lower your lower arms
Inhale – keeping your fingers interlaced, sweep your arms forwards and up, straightening your legs and lifting your gaze if that feels comfortable
Exhale – separate hands, sweep arms down by your side interlacing fingers back to starting position
Repeat several times
3) ASYMMETRIC STANCE TO BE AVOIDED IF EXPERIENCING PELVIC GIRDLE PAIN (PGP/ SPD)
Step right foot forward, turn left toes out about 45 degrees, keep shoulders and baby facing forwards. Feet stable if necessary widen/ narrow stance so that you feel well balanced.
Interlace fingers
Inhale – draw up through your legs and arms until your hands are level with your heart
Exhale – turns palms down, press down through feet and keeping your fingers interlaced sweep your arms down, forwards and up, finding/feeling a diagonal line from back foot to wrists, lift gaze if that feels comfortable
Inhale – straighten front leg so that brings your arm above you
Exhale – separate hands, sweep arms down by your side, interlacing fingers back to starting position
Repeat several times then change leg position to left foot forward, right leg back. Back heel can lift if there is pulling at the back of your knee, but stability is first priority so be comfortable and stable in your chosen stance
